ABOUT ME

My name is Thamar Smith, and I specialize in cinematography and visual storytelling rooted in intention, emotion, and craft. I believe strong visuals do more than look good they communicate feeling, guide attention, and elevate the story being told. My work focuses on using light, composition, and camera movement to create imagery that feels cinematic, purposeful, and authentic.

I enjoy collaborating on narrative films, music videos, and branded content, especially projects where sound and visuals work together to shape mood and meaning. Whether I’m designing a controlled lighting setup, finding the right lens to capture intimacy, or building a visual rhythm through movement, my goal is always the same: support the story and connect with the audience.

My background spans both creative and technical worlds. As a co-founder of Arkitek Music Group and a cinematography student at Full Sail University, I bring hands on production experience alongside formal training in modern digital workflows. Working closely with musicians, directors, brands, and creative teams has taught me the value of collaboration and clear visual intent.

I’m based in the Midwest and work with artists, organizations, and brands that value strong storytelling and thoughtful visuals.
